A warm welcome to Total Balance Clinic, my name is Tracey and I am a Massage Therapist. I am very excited to be a part of this fantastic and exceptionally dedicated team here at Total Balance Clinic.
My Story so far…. I took my first massage qualification in 2010 and my journey began. I had spent many years working in the finance sector and realised this was not what I wanted to do any more. Also, at that time my two young children Tommy and Georgia were both of school age and it was the right time to start studying. I choose Massage as I knew the many benefits the treatment offers and I just knew I had to learn this skill. I balanced two careers part-time for the next few years. Then in February 2017 I qualified in Sports Massage. This has been a turning point for me in my career as a Therapist. Being able to offer individuals a tailored treatment using my knowledge and skills to help them overcome an injury, for example, is very rewarding. Meeting new people and building relationships is another reason I love this job. Now I have found a wonderful family at Total Balance whom are all individually and collectively passionate about helping people as am I.
Studying and learning new skills is my real passion and hobby these days! In fact I’ve never studied this much! This year I have completed additional training in Reflexology and Pregnancy Massage, and later this year I will be completing courses in facial reflexology as well as a Level 3 in Education and Training with a view to eventually becoming a teacher of holistic therapies.
My Passions… I have two great children whom I am very proud of, especially as I have brought them up on my own. My son Tommy is at Bournemouth University studying Media Studies and my daughter Georgia has just completed college where she has been studying Graphic Design, and she will be joining her brother at Bournemouth University in September 2019. When I’m not studying, I enjoy nothing more than cooking for family. I enjoy socialising and love to travel. I recently surprised the kids with a trip to New York and this is us at the top of the Empire State Building. It was an amazing experience and even more special as holidays with my children have been few and far between.
I believe life is a balancing act and a little bit of what you fancy is fine. I have never been a massive sports person, but I do try and throw myself a couple of times a week at home, normally to a Davina DVD. I also enjoy walking and gardening. Although I’m not particularly sporty, I do look after myself by eating healthily and keeping active in order to look after others. I’m a daughter of publicans and grew up in pubs – when pubs were real pubs and at the heart of the community – listening to people, caring and offering great customer service – it’s in my blood! Along with pulling a great pint of course!
I believe this job is ultimately where I am meant to do my best work. My ambition for the future is to keep learning new skills and perfecting the ones I already have, and eventually to be able to teach all I have learnt to other new aspiring therapists.
I very much look forward to meeting you and being part of the team that takes great care of you here at Total Balance Clinic.
