Pete Houchin - Rehabilitation Specialist & Massage Therapist
Having qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2015, I've always had a view to improve health and injury in others. After suffering an injury chequered 11 year career in electronics engineering; 10 of which were spent in the British Army; I came to this lifechanging decision.
I had spent long periods of my life, both as a child and an adult in the Army, injured with a variety of different conditions. I felt that despite hundreds of hours of treatment, therapy and rehabilitative exercises I still wasn’t getting fixed. I thought that there must be a better way to do this.
I wanted to understand my body better, to keep it on the road for longer, keep fit for my entire life and not just expect to get worse as I got older. Personal training was the first step on my journey to find out the answers that I really wanted. The steps I have since taken led me down a rabbit warren of neurology, fascia, the nervous system, emotion and how each one could effect any pain or injury. Applying all that into a coherent system called Applied Movement Neurology.
I love what I do now – helping people to live healthier and fitter lifestyles through rehabilitation and therapy, and with my history based in electronics, and now neurologically, I see the body and pain differently to most.
I love being outside, walking the dog, running and more recently gymnastic style strength training for reasons that I won’t get into here.
I am married to my lovely wife Jo, we have a very smiley daughter – Maisie, and a lunatic cocker spaniel called Max.
I look forward to helping you on your journey back to full physical health.
