Gwen is not sporty. Gwen appreciates the need to keep moving to stay healthy and has discovered a weekly yoga class 'counts'. This, along with regular maintenance massages, hot water bottle and a nice lay down on a foam roller is currently just enough to keep her going.
It was the ordinary stresses and strains of an office job, working at a desk, looking at a computer etc, that eventually took its toll on her shoulder. It was an uncomfortable, frequently painful time and she didn't sleep well or touch the top shelf in the kitchen cupboards for months. After finally finding a therapeutic massage therapist (who turned on the light at the end of the tunnel) she was hooked.
The support enabled her to make some changes and after discovering an introduction course in therapeutic massage, made the leap and has never looked back.
After the initial 9 day course at Jing, she went on to complete advanced training on myofascial release, techniques to release scar tissue and moves for pregnancy and post natal clients. She doesn't like using her elbows or hurting her clients.
She uses a broad range of techniques to help her clients reduce pain and increase their range of movement and loves seeing the changes as they improve their mobility.
